Responsable de la pollution d'un étang, une multinationale d'agrochimie est condamnée à verser une indemnité d'un montant ridicule aux riverains réduits au chômage. Bien décidés à ce que justice soit faite, quatre irréductibles refusent l'argent et décident d'infiltrer le siège de la société situé à La Défense, afin d'y dénicher de nouvelles preuves accablantes. Ils ne disposent que de trente jours. Après un crochet réussi par la comédie romantique ("Je crois que je l'aime"), Pierre Jolivet est revenu en 2008 à la comédie sociale, un domaine où il excelle (voir le populaire "Ma petite entreprise" ou "Zim and Co"). Réflexion sur la mondialisation, "La très très grande entreprise" s'appuie sur un scénario très documenté cosigné avec Simon Michaël. Entre clins d'oil au thriller d'espionnage et petits éclairs romantiques, il se révèle une comédie insolente et futée sur les rouages du monde d'aujourd'hui auquel il oppose le système D et la solidarité. Le film, foncièrement "citoyen" et engagé, est porté par un quatuor d'acteurs, aussi solides que charismatiques (Roschdy Zem, Marie Gillain, Jean-Paul Rouve et Adrien Jolivet, fils du réalisateur), et des seconds rôles savoureux (Guilaine Londez, Vikash Dhorasoo.). On ne reprochera à cette comédie extrêmement sympathique que son épilogue, un peu trop expédié.
